Cars Ministry – Elgin

The cars ministry provides maintenance and repairs for those that qualify through the benevolence process. Volunteers serve one Saturday each month. General volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have some experience with car repair. The greatest need for this ministry is always professional mechanics. Any additional training and scheduling will be done by Cars Ministry Coordinator.

Time Required:

• Saturday morning teams serve once a month for 5-7 hours beginning at 7:30 am.

Duties (General Volunteer):
• Help assess service needs by completing vehicle inspection checklist
• Assist in making necessary repairs under guidance of team lead – professional mechanic
• Document repairs performed and additional repair needs in Google spreadsheet
• Interact with benevolence family in a way that displays the love of Christ clearly

Duties (Professional Mechanic):
• Diagnose and assess vehicle service needs
• Lead volunteer team in making necessary repairs
• Ensure proper documentation of repairs preformed and any additional repair needs.
• Communicate to benevolence family all repairs that were performed and any additional repair needs
• Interact with benevolence family in a way that displays the love of Christ clearly
